so all of my friends know that i am one who LOVES to take pictures of my food. i enjoy taking my camera everywhere i go and i would always insist on taking a picture of every dish that is put on our table. i take them so often that it's become an annoyance to my dear friends as i take whip out my camera and my friends roll their eyes [and i appreciate their patience every time]. so in the past few weeks my friends brought up this idea that i should change my blog to a food blog. the idea has been going back and forth in my head ever since and i think it's a great idea! so i was thinking, maybe i can transition into a food blog and have food as a main entree and have fashion, craft, travel, and inspirations as sides. i know for now my blogs will be everywhere and all over the place, but i think in the end it will be good! so here we go! the beginning of a transition!

i have done something horrible. i have broken a promise i made. that is to blog three times a week. but! i do have somewhat of a good reason!!where can i begin?...well...once upon a time...jk...it all started when we[my roommates and i] started moving into our apartment, august. the stuff that had to be done was quite a handful! it took a while to get settled in and have the place as 'home-y' as it can be. as things started to fall into place, i could've continued in blogging three times a week but sadly i was unable to, because our internet had yet to be connected. so we called the internet provider, bought the modem, and set up the internet for our apartment in the next two weeks. after everything was done and i was ready to continue blogging, i was bit by the bug of laziness and of course school started! i just pushed blogging all the way to the side! and as it sat there, lonely, building up dust, i constantly thought to myself 'i NEED to go back to blogging' and i have been saying that to myself for the past week or two. tonight is the night this all ends! i shall destroy this monster[part2] once and for all! so here we go!!!!

what better way to start anew than with food??!right?so here's a mini preview of what is around our apartment!!first off!we have the lovely chain bakery, Panera. My first time to Panera was at this one and i had gone with my dear roommate/bestfriend, nik's parents. i had heard of panera plenty of times and was told to try if i had the chance, since i enjoy corner bakery. i ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup [i LOVE soup] and split the the bear claw desert with nik's mom. the soup was noticeably to be the bottom of the pot, but i must say i thoroughly enjoyed every bite! as for the bear claw? DELISH! usually not a BIG fan with almonds, i mean i'll eat it, but the almonds on the bear claw were great! did i mention how relaxing the ambiance is? maybe it's just me, who enjoys the environment of a bakery/coffee shop-esque, but i think it would make a great place to read or relax. all together, it's a dandy place to have near the apartment! and i hope to visit the place every now and then [after i explore al these other places that is].

o how i love the fair!! usually i go to the LA county fair at least once a year but this year i thought i'd also give the OC fair a chance and my did i have fun! now the LA fair is definitely bigger but i did like the smaller environment of the OC fair, less overwhelming! so when i go to the LA fair i don't usually go to eat specifically but for the OC fair, i went just to eat! and of course hang out with some friends! so i finally got to try frog legs which i have to say i'm not a big fan of but none the less what people say about it is true, the resemblance of the frog to chicken is quite high! besides the frog legs i ordered 'typical fair food' which were bomb! the fried oreo cookies, the funnel cake, the corndog...all just delicious! the OC fair also had this thing where you pay a dollar to taste food so that was also a plus to my fair food adventure!so let's just say, from that day i must've gained 100 pounds!but so worth it!!....next stop? LA fair!what should i try this time?

gahhhh and let the rooms be filled with characterrrrr!!!!what a busy day today!!well today and yesterday. my friends and i finally got our apartment and yesterday our families [well two of their families] came and we all cleaned up our lovely apartment. the apartment was way to bland [pictures below] so today we painted the two rooms and one of the walls for the living room. and somehow i have blisters on my hand. but it was really exciting and fun painting, though tiring [the whole time i complained on why in the paint commercials they made it so easy but here i am using all the strength in me to paint] in the end it ended looking up freaking awesome! i'll post updates on how it goes!

so recently...as in the past two days, i've had wing stop and i had heard about it for a while and the goodness of it. so the first time i had it i had hawaiian and bbq which i thought were delicious!!they could've used less bbq sauce but thats ok!it was still good!the second day i went with a bunch of friends and we ordered 100 wings!!we got parmesan, mild, hot, and the best lemon and pepper!i have to say i enjoyed these very much! so if anyone gets the chance take a pit stop at wing stop it's delish!

ahhhhh my love for baked goods is beyond my imagination! i have this knack for baking but in all honesty i'm not that good. but i'm still learning and everytime i bake i learn something new. i long to be able to bake[and cook] like a pro one day. baking has always made me happy and everytime i succeed in making something the happiness just overflows. besides that one of my favorite thing to do is look at pictures of baked goods! they're such an inspiration to me and let's be honest they look so cute and of course they look beyond delicious!!!so here are some of my favs that i wanted to share with everyone!

i finally got to make cupcakes from scratch on my own!!this might seem like a simple task for many, but for me, i never had the chance to do so because our oven never really worked or i helped a dear friend [gabby] make some. but since we remodeled the kitchen and got a new oven it was one of the first things i did! i was so happy and proud of myself that i just had to show it on here, to spread the joy and excitement that went through me when i saw the finished product!so here it is!my vanilla cupcake!from scratch!:)

for the love of food i continue to look for new places to try out and new recipes for the future to test out. but recently my mom took me to eat at this delicious place called california chicken cafe! and my the chicken is fabulous!and not dry at all!!!that's the one thing about chicken i dislike, when it's dry, it just makes it very unpleasant. Anyways, California Chicken Cafe is this neat fast-food style type of restaurant without the nasty fast-food kind of food. it's very healthy and green!!the price is affordable and the employees are wonderful! my mom and i shared the 3 piece chicken and 2 sides, broccoli soup and fruit salad [delish!!!] definitely check it out if you have time! or want a nice relaxing lunch or dinner and it's great during the summer!so check it out!

Brodard Restaurant
since i'm on a diet right now, let's talk about food!!my mom recently took me to this Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove, which was AMAZING!. the food was delicious and the service was great too! It's hidden behind the 99cents store and yet the line for the food is ridiculous. The interior is really nice, probably the nicest vietnamese restaurant i've been to. when i was sitting there i felt like this restaurant was supposed to be in a asian hotel somewhere. at the time we went it wasn't as busy dining in but the togo line was definitely a wait. if anyone stops by i definitely recommend the porridge and the spring rolls, they're beyond delicious and they're all i can think about for the past couple of days. i have some pictures and i'll post the information for the restaurant below!enjoy!

it's been a long time since the last time i posted on here!i've been so busy with moving out,work,house being under construction,and meeting up with friends!!so much is going on! but the best part is...i have a bunch of great things to ass to this post!! first up!i went to the farmer's market in monrovia this past friday. if anyone who stops by here follows lintypocketthen she just posted a post on the same exact market this week![we weren't there together] apparently it's one of the biggest one in the nation, so i had to go see it myself. it was quite adorable! they closed down the whole street and people were just everywhere!did i mention it was in downtown??downtowns are my favorite part of every city!!faces were being painted, food being cooked, balloons being blown up, and shoppers peering into every booth! i enjoyed my time there very much! and definitely think i will be going there again in the near future. but even though i enjoyed my time at the monrovia farmer's market i can't deny the home-y feeling i get from the one in my city, west covina. though it is much smaller, i feel like home there! it just might be because of the roasted corn i always get!i'll save that for a different post! but back to monrovia! yes! loved it! and will definitely recommend my friends to go! anyways!i wanted to share some pictures that i took there at the market and some items i bought!i was very excited when i got both of these items!they're so cute and one of them is handmade! a bit pricy but i just had to have them! do you have an awesome farmers market in your city?let me know about it!

today is a bittersweet day. i am officially done with my first year of college! i am filled with so much joy, but this is merely because i'm done with school work for the year! and the bitter part you ask? well since i've been living in the dorms this whole school year, i got to know such amazing people. and realizing that i'm done with the school year made me connect the dots and realize that we will be moving out soon. it's such a sad thought that i won't be able to see these people like i have been able to this past school year. we won't be able to walk down the stairs to find amazing company or get together in the middle of the night to sing and laugh.or have a big crowd to watch glee in the common room. or walk to dinner with 20+ people! or just bother til 3 in the morning! it's such a sad thing to think about and i know we'll still see each other after this, but you can't deny that it won't be the same as living together. i will always cherish my memories here and love the people i have met here in our little snowhome. each and every one of them has been an amazing part of this experience here at irvine, though some i may have met later than others or i am not as close to them like others, i know for a fact that we have at least one memory together and will always cherish it and hope they realize that they have made an impact on my life. forever will our memories last and forever will we continue to create the best memories.
and talking about time passing by so fast. i'm heading to my alma mater to go and cheer on my lovelies [my juniors]. i can't believe they're graduating!and right before my eyes they've all grown up(o.<). but i am so happy for them and excited for them to enter the world of college!good luck lovelies!you've worked hard and learned so much in school and in life!may you cherish every moment and have the most fun at your college and may you meet amazing people like i have, who will always care for you and watch your back like how hermione and ron will always have harry's back. and you best keep in touch!and lastly, prepare to meet your new family!

at this point i am so happy!this is merely because i just finished my first final and i totally kicked it's butt!i'm so relieved! 1 down 3 more to go!but i'm not here to talk about my finals but about a festival that happened here at UCI this past friday. reggae fest! the park was crowded with irvine students waiting in line for free tacos to chilling on the hill. with the mellow music playing and the great amount of free stuff, my heart was filled with joy! so i thought i should share some of the joy with you by posting some pictures from the event!

ALSO another thing i wanted to talk about was, i've decided that i want to start an online business soon. if anyone has any tips they want to leave please don't hesitate!i would love to learn from different people!!i just recently got some of the products that i plan on selling, with my own little touch of course! but yes!i'll post up some pictures of the stuff soon!:)

well for the first food blog, i would like to blog about this little shop i was able to go to recently called Mochilato. thats correct! it's mochi with gelato inside. it's delicious!i was so happy when my roommate and her friends decided to take me there!i have heard so much about it and i finally got to try it! the ambiance is awesome and of course the mochi was amazing! they also have taiyaki, toast, and other deliciousness! definitely go try it out when you're in town!

so many things are going on this month, and with that i have been away from my blog for a while. so sorry. but i have a lot to tell you! we'll talk about the weekend, and giveaways, and i'll post some pictures i got to take!
so this past monday was memorial day [happy late memorial day!] i was able to go oceanside where we had a meditation retreat for two days. can i just say i have never been a big fan of the beach, but i loved the house we stayed at! it was beyond cute! and it was right off of the beach! i finally got to rent one of those bikes [surrey?] that seats 4 people and my friends and i just had so much fun!below i'll post some pictures of our calming getaway!
i also wanted to tell you guys about a giveaway oh,hellofriend is doing right now! lintypocket is an amazing blogger that i talked about in a recent post. she's just beyond cute and not to mention creative with a taste in fashion and saving money. did i mention she's been a friend of mine since elementary school? yupyup!! so here's a quick Q&A i had with lp herself!
1.Please, introduce yourself.
My name's Christina and I live at the toes of the mountains. There's trails that go up and up and up where I love to go and photograph. I love to run across the endless fields with arms wide open having the wind sweep me off my feet. I love being barefoot, it makes me feel adventurously sexy.
2.What made you start your blog?
The birth of my blog was due to pure lust and excitement...of a journalism class. There were several intertwined subjects to choose from ranging from public relations to photography and I so happen to choose blogging - to blog about the sweet deals and steals of my adventures to local shops such as swap meets, thrift stores and consignment stores.
3.What is your blog generally about?
With that, the birth of my alias, lintypocket (LP), was born. She wasn't born into a wealthy family so she had to find a way to make her life affordable, making sure the lint in her pocket could actually get her places. And here LP stands today going onto adventures all around Southern California searching for amazing deals on a great pair of shoes or a bag. LP's isn't selfish in her buys, she shares her great finds on her wordpress for all her readers to enjoy.
4.What are some of your Inspirations?
I have a several inspirations, my greatest inspiration is my Father God, He's the one who brought me into this life and has held my hand with every breath I take, every step I take. Being given such a gracious Father, He has blessed me with my second greatest inspiration - my mother. My mother has a great sense of fashion, and like LP, she too wasn't born into a wealthy family. She's learned all the tricks of the trade when it comes to bargaining and picking locks to steal some cash. Not only is she nifty, knows all those quaint stores on that street corner with fabulous finds and manages to pull coupons out of her pockets whenever it's needed. When it comes to shopping, my mother is my partner in crime.
5.Can you tell us of some blogs in which you are a frequent visitor?
There are a just a small amount of blogs that I visit frequently. I LOVE May's pixelshaker photoblog. May is an amazing photographer and is super pro at photoshop. She inspires me to learn all there is to know about photography and photo-editing/retouching! Also, my dear friend Ryan Chin is the author of the many entry posts of coaxedslowly. Ryan posts his original poems on a daily basis dealing with love and heartbreak to epiphanies and realizations.

hello hello dear friends!my did this weekend go by fast??so much has happened!!so here's pretty much my weekend.
thursday: since i didn't write about it i thought i should bring it up now. we had our end of the year hall banquet on thursday and my friend and i got to perform Billionaire. it was quite fun. we started decorating for the banquet at 5 and we strung lights up and decorated the room with pictures/cardboards of movie stars and the tables were decorated with cute center pieces. the theme was "A Night in Hollywood." it turned out really well! and the food was delicious!lots of laughters, tears, and happy memories.
friday: my hallmates and i joined the downtown disney scavenger hunt that middle earth community planned out for the residents. and my o my it was fun! i think in the end it was just the fact that a lot of us got to hang out together. a lot of the other halls aren't as close as ours. we're family and we travel in packs. who knows how big of a river we'll cry when it's move-out day.:(
saturday: was spent being lazy. i did absolutely nothing. did i mention i also lost my voice. completely. well, i did. and it is not fun!but besides that my friend warda and i spent half of the day trying out a new recipe! pie-in-a-jar! beyond cute! and delicious might i add!
sunday: let's just say...sunday was a day that revolved around LOST. that's right. i am a LOST fan!i went to church [Newsong. a great church. if you live in Irvine, definitely check it out] and the sermon for the day was from a Chris Seay, author of The Gospel according to LOST. Chris Seay was hilarious! it was such a great sermon!and you guessed it! it had a lot to do with LOST. after Church warda and i got started on preparing for the season finale for LOST. we made so much spam masubi and california rolls! we sat in the kitchen for 2 hours! but the result was great! the masubi was delicious! and of course, the LOST event started at 7 [ended at 1] and we sat in the common room and watched the last episode of an amazing series. as of now, i still don't know how i feel about the last episode. personally i thought it was ok. but i felt like something was missing. can't put my finger on it. but i'll just have to accept what the makers of LOST has given me.
so. all in all. great weekend! loved everything about it. it would have been beyond amazing if i didn't lose my voice. but that's okay! it's already coming back. i hope i didn't bore everyone!but for now!thanks for stopping by and have a good day!

hello hello dear friends!What a weekend! This weekend has just been full of laziness and fun! i may not have been able to finish my paper at a good time but i had a crazy fun weekend! i went to Prom 2.0. that's right! i went to a formal here at my wonderful school and it was loads of fun! there was a karaoke room and poker room and best of all...a chocolate fountain. it was delicious! and the dancing was great! ahhhh...how the camera can be so much fun!i personally don't have a camera [YET] but i've been able to get my hands on one every now and then. my dear friend warda has a nikon and i have been able to take it around the school and take some cool pictures! so here are some of the pictures i got to take in the past. a while ago too. but these pictures were taken during one of many study sessions my roommate gabby and i had. we took pleasure in studying in different locations every now and then. it was great to have a new environment! also sometimes i have the urge to put lyrics to a song or poem on my pictures so some of them might have that on there. so her we are! my first 'picture' posts.
